“so
is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not
return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
Isaiah 55:11
Sunday,
July 1, 2007 - We’ve encountered several
Zerma who have indicated that they want to follow Christ
but something is holding them back from making that
decision. Pray that God would draw these people to Himself
and give them the courage to take that step of faith.
Pray that the Zerma believers would encourage these
seekers, and be ready to give an answer for “the
hope that is within them.”

of rest and renewal they had with their family in the

has been ministering to through her weekly Kid’s
Clubs. Many seeds have been planted in their hearts—and
in some of the parent’s hearts who have come to
watch. Pray that these seeds of truth would take root
and grow and that God would continue to draw these kids
to Himself. Ask God to raise up a believer that will
lead the Kid’s Club while the Cain’s are
in the states.
Wednesday,
July 4, 2007 – Happy 4th of July. As
we celebrate our Independence and Freedom let us remember
to pray for those that do not have this luxury. Pray
for those who are not free to worship as they feel led.
Let us remember that our freedom is not free –
many gave their lives for our freedom.
Thursday,
July 5, 2007 – ANSWER: Thank you for
praying for the four volunteers from Georgia who came
last month to help Phil with mentoring believers. Our
time was well-spent and the groups of believers we met
with in various villages were greatly encouraged by
their sharing, teaching, and exhortation. The body of
Christ is slowly being built up in these places in the
midst of many challenges.
Friday,
July 6, 2007 – ANSWER: From time to time
over the past several years we have asked you to pray
that God would “send workers into the harvest”
here in Niger. One of the ways God has answered this
prayer is through volunteers—in 2006 alone our
team had over 60 volunteers from Baptist churches in
the U.S. It looks like we may have at least that number
this year. Many of you reading this have come to Niger
yourselves; walking alongside us, praying with us, and
ministering to the Zerma people. Thanks for your faithful
prayers.
Saturday,
July 7, 2007 – ANSWER: Praise God for
amazing volunteers who have come to labor among the

Tuesday,
July 10, 2007 – Pray for a good rainy
season that will produce a plentiful harvest. Pray for
the village of Mali to receive a well, obtaining enough
water to meet daily needs continues to be a challenge
for this village. Pray for rain—as you read this
the millet, sorghum, peanuts, and peas are growing in
the fields and the amount of rain they get will be a
big factor in whether or not the Zerma have a good harvest.
Pray that this year’s rains would lead to an abundant
harvest.

July 14, 2007 – Happy Birthday - Don
Bolls. At 58 as my hair turns grayer I gain immediate
respect among the Zerma people. Several Zerma Christian
leaders are also in the gray hair age. They are much
respected for their age and gray hair. Moumouni, Alhassan,
and Warize come to mind. Pray that I and these Zerma
leaders use that respect to further the cause of Christ.

and Caleb as they leave friends behind and transition
to new schools this fall.

vision. We are so grateful to the many volunteers who
will be coming to facilitate the meetings.
Saturday,
July 21, 2007 - Our work with the Zerma people
would be ineffective to impossible without our West
Africa office team in the US. Pray for Roger, Holly,
and Judy who work 'behind' the scenes to help us win
Zerma people to Christ. There are many others that work
with our travel, medical, pay etc. but our West Africa
office is a front line of contact.
Sunday,
July 22, 2007 – ANSWER: The Bolls write,
“It has been so good to be able to share with
the several churches and various organizations during
our Stateside Assignment. Many people are very interested
in the work among the Zerma and many are being "called"
to be more specific in praying for the missionaries,
the work, the Zerma Believers and those strongly seeking
God. We praise the Lord for the dedication of the many
Prayer Warriors that are praying for work among Zerma
DAILY. We love you all...”

the Lord for such an awesome Zerma team. We have been
encouraged by everyone on the team. We hear of work
being done in the Ouallam area and this has helped our
time here as we share of the work that continues. Thanks
team! We are excited that all 93 latrines were totally
finished in Ouallam! Please pray for Amadou as he continues
to work in one of the nearby villages, Mondolo Garbey
Fondu is also building a latrine for the school. Pray
for the Bible classes once again, that they will remember
the Love of Southern Baptists and the desire of so many
to offer help and shown love in Jesus' name.
Thursday,
July 26, 2007 – Pray for Hassi and Cindy
as they lead women in Bible study each Thursday afternoon.
The believers have been scattered throughout the city
due to persecution and now are too far apart to meet
together regularly. In response to this Cindy and Hassi
are beginning 3 studies; one in Goudel in the home of
a believer, one Dar Salam at a believer’s house
and one in Yantala with wife and neighbors of a believer.
Pray for God’s Word to go forth with power and
not return void.
Friday,
July 27, 2007 – ANSWER: Praise the Lord
for our families - we (Bolls) have been able to spend
time with families, but especially the grandkids as
their parents work. We will be taking Dillon and Rachel
with us to the Downey Reunion in Texas, at the end of
this month. As I think of our heritage, our ancestors,
I am so thankful for the many influences in my life
- and pray for those Zerma that are now beginning to
hear of the love of Jesus. Help us to be more faithful
as we share of our Christian Heritage.

elder who has been following Jesus for five months and

it out.
Sunday,

her eagerness to sing Christian songs to all who will
listen. We pray that her love of God’s Word will
continue to grow and mature.
Monday,
July 30, 2007 - As you know, modern ways of
communication seem to have 'shrunk' the world we live
in. This has been brought to our attention while on
Stateside Assignment as we have received several cell
phone calls from a Zerma man living in Africa. Pray
for Halidou, a Christian, and many other Zerma people
living far from their homeland, some of which have shared
their faith with their new friends.
