“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances,
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not put
out the Spirit’s fire; do not treat prophecies with contempt.
Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil.” I
Thessalonians 5:16-22
Sunday,
May 1, 2011 – Pray for RoEna and Billy Sustar, Patrick,
Lauren and Harrison Sustar as they leave Niger today and fly back
to the states. Praise God for their visit here. Ask God to give
them a smooth trip home and opportunity to share with others what
they experienced in Niger.
Monday,
May 2, 2011 - The Bolls met no Zerma people during their
short stay in France. They did leave some Zerma reading material
and audio cassettes with missionaries if any Zerma are located.
Ask God to bring any Zerma people living in France into the path
of these missionaries.
Tuesday,
May 3, 2011 – During the month of May the Bolls
will be sharing in several churches about ministry among the Zerma
people. Pray they share what is needed, help bring prayer support
along with concern and understanding for Zerma people.
Wednesday,
May 4, 2011 – As we minister among Zerma people,
we see children who lose their mothers at birth which is an all
too common experience. Ask God to comfort each child. Pray for
wisdom as we try to help show God's love in these situations.
Thursday,
May 5, 2011 – Please continue to pray for the
Ouallam church. Pray for the faithful few who come on Sundays to
worship—pray that their numbers will increase as they learn
to depend on the Lord for their needs and their spiritual growth.
Friday,
May 6, 2011 – Pray for the children who have trusted
in Christ, sometimes in secret. Pray that like the mustard seed,
their faith would grow and become strong.
Saturday,
May 7, 2011 – Several years ago First Baptist
Church Clayton helped provide latrines for the Christian group
and a school in the town of Kanda. More recently a trunk full of
literature was left with believers. Pray the material and latrines
continue to be a witness of God's love in this area.
Sunday,
May 8, 2011 – Pray for unity among the Zerma Christians,
that their hearts would be united in love and oneness of purpose
Monday,

Caroline. Please continue to lift her in prayer as she continues
to gain strength.
Tuesday,
May 10, 2011 – Niger's physical location in the
world brings many happenings to its "doorsteps.” Pray
God's protections over the Zerma people and the missionaries that
witness and minister to them.
Wednesday,
May 11, 2011 – Praise God Don and Teresa arrived
safely in the U.S. to begin their stateside assignment. Pray for
them as they settle into a new way of life and begin to share with
others about life in Niger and how others can pray for Zerma people
Thursday,
May 12, 2011 – Happy Birthday Stephanie Ledlow
Rendell. Pray for Stephanie as she and Scott are expecting their
first baby. Pray the pregnancy goes well and a healthy baby arrives.
Friday,
May 13, 2011 – Pray for Pastor Amadou’s mom
who is receiving medical treatment for cancer. Ask God to heal
her and draw her into a relationship with him.
Saturday,
May 14, 2011 – Being insulted, persecuted with
all kinds of evil accusations being brought against you is not
fun in any society. It is also true among Zerma people. Jesus said, “We
are blessed when this happens…” in Matthew 10:11 NIV.
Pray for strength and courage in our faith in Christ.
Sunday,
May 15, 2011 – Pray for Ruth, a summer volunteer,
coming to work with Kimberly and help with the Kids’ Clubs.
Pray for her adjustment to the culture and learning the Zerma language
Monday,
May 16, 2011 – Happy Birthday Caleb Cain. We thank
God for Caleb and the blessings he brings to our lives. Pray that
he would continue to grow in wisdom and stature and in the knowledge
of God. Pray that his faith would be strengthened and his mind
renewed as he grows into a young man.
Tuesday,
May 17, 2011 – As Cindy finishes her last quarter
of teaching the grade 5/6 class at Sahel Academy, ask the Lord
to give her clear understanding of how to influence her students
to grow into leaders who will continue to shape a new future in
Niger.
Wednesday,
May 18, 2011 – Thank God for the passion and
gifts of Emily Elliott who works with university students in Niamey
as she teams with Ben and Cindy and their girls on the new Urban
Team in Niamey. Ask God to give Emily clear vision as she influences
these students through teaching English at the university.
Thursday,
May 19, 2011 – Happy Birthday Christin Sustar.
We praise God for Christin and the beautiful young woman she is
becoming. Pray for Christin to finish school well this year and
to be a strong witness for Christ, to her friends.
Friday,
May 20, 2011 – Thanks for your prayers for the village
of “S” where Phil has been leading a small group. The
Lord has added to their number this past month and we praise Him
that two men prayed to receive Christ a couple weeks ago. Please
continue to pray for the spiritual growth of these new believers,
and that God would give them boldness and courage to share the
news of their conversion with others.
Saturday,
May 21, 2011 – Pray for the women who live in
the “G” neighborhood of Niamey. There are several moms
attending the kids’ clubs on Saturday afternoon. Pray for
their hearts and minds to be open to God’s word and that
they would choose to follow Christ.
Sunday,
May 22, 2011 – Thank God for a group of four men
who are taking a look at what the scriptures say about work, integrity,
and finances for both business and family. These men seem grateful
for this time to study and dialogue. Ask God to put into their
minds how to use these lessons as they lead their families and
initiate business efforts to support their families financially.
Monday,
May 23, 2011 – Believe with us that God will shape
a team of intercessors among believers in the city of Niamey who
will choose to gather each week to pray for specific people they
know who are not yet followers of Jesus.
Tuesday,
May 24, 2011 – Thank God for the existing churches
in Niamey and pray for courage in leadership for each of the churches
pastors and for those who serve in these churches to see that each
of their gifts are to be used to serve the church and the community
in which they live.
Wednesday,
May 25, 2011 – Thanks for your prayers for the
village of “C”. Many men have left the village to look
for work but a small group continues to meet with Phil each Wednesday.
Pray that they would hear and understand the gospel as we spend
time in the Word. Pray that God would give them a desire to hear
His word, that they would be convicted of their sin and need to
repent. Pray that they would leave the wide road that leads to
destruction and follow the narrow path that leads to life.
Thursday,
May 26, 2011 – Thanks for your prayers for the
village of “Z”. Phil has been able to return twice
and the men there have continued to be receptive to hearing God’s
word. Pray that God would open the eyes of their heart to His truth
as we visit and discuss Bible stories.
Friday,
May 27, 2011 – Pray for Ami who is beginning her
second trimester of pregnancy. Ask God to give her a smooth pregnancy
and to keep her other 3 children well. Saturday,
May 28, 2011 – Take a moment to thank God for
the team of people today who pray for the Zerma people and ask
God to give them courage, insight and protection as they continue
to faithfully pray for the Zerma in this world. Remember that each
of us need the prayers of others because our battle in this world
is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces
of darkness in the heavenly realms and our Zerma peoples’ eternal
destiny is at stake.
Sunday,
May 29, 2011 – Pray for Pastor Amadou to make decisions
that are best in the “G” community in Niamey because
his time is taken up by many good things at the present time and
he needs wisdom in each decision.
Monday,
May 30, 2011 – Believe together with us that God
will reveal to us those things in Niger that are hindrances to
people choosing to follow Jesus and that each one of us who pray
would focus part of our prayer time each day on these strongholds
being broken down. Tuesday,
May 31, 2011 – Thank God today for the believers
in Niger and ask the Lord to fill each of us with a desire to live
lives of sharing all things with each other so that this nation
can see what the church is intended to be and become hungry to
join this community of believers called the church.
Thank you for joining us in lifting the Zerma People before the
throne!
